Living on the coast makes sights like this an every day common occurrence. I love seeing all the bright colors, even if faded, that are used on boats, lobster buoys, flags, and more! When I’ve been on a trip out of the area and come home, seeing things like this just make me feel I’m back home.

Living right here on the water in Portsmouth NH means we have lots of water and boating activities, and sometimes that means we have need for the Portsmouth Fire Boat…. it’s always reassuring to know that emergency help is readily available on land and on sea! Hopefully all we have need for this fire boat for is just looking at it tied up at the downtown docks.

Christmas in Downtown Portsmouth New Hampshire!

Portsmouth New Hampshire is such a pretty seaside town, and the downtown area, known as Market Square, is even lovelier during the Christmas season. We have a beautiful 4-story tall Christmas tree right in the very center of town, nicely decorated and lit at night. All of our street lights downtown are encircled with wreaths and most of our storefronts are beautifully decorated as well.
If you’re in the area, make sure to take a stroll or slow drive through Portsmouth and see how beautifully decorated the whole town is!

Portsmouth NH Waterfront | Prescott Park

Portsmouth NH has a beautiful park, Prescott Park, that runs along the Piscataqua River in the downtown area. It’s a lovely area to sit and enjoy the gorgeous scenery, people watch, take in a concert or a festival, etc. Come and enjoy the beauty we have all around us – have a seat and stay awhile….. you won’t want to leave!

You never know what you’ll see on the side of the road – all of the things in this picture are very common sights here along the coast of New Hampshire. The way these were grouped together the day we spotted them just really caught my attention. An old dinghy, lobster buoys, old wooden lobster traps ….

It’s hard to imagine not enjoying all the water all around us here in Portsmouth NH and in the Seacoast areas in general.
