Historic Portsmouth NH Mansion By The Sea
Posted on 10 July 2009
This stunning Portsmouth historic antique home by the sea was once home to New Hampshire’s first Governor, Benning Wentworth, back in the mid-1700’s. Called the Wentworth-Coolidge Home, it sits on the banks of Little Harbor, and is one of the ‘most outstanding homes remaining of the colonial era’.
This Portsmouth NH home is a beauty, and is open to the public for tours during the summer and early fall months. The grounds are gorgeous, overlooking Little Harbor, and full of old-fashioned lilacs.

Hi Steve – thanks for the compliment! It’s easy for me to take pictures of all kinds of things here in Portsmouth because I really love living here and it really is a beautiful place to call home!
