Portsmouth NH | Historic South End Waterfront Homes
Posted on 20 August 2009
Portsmouth NH is located right on the river that divides New Hampshire and Maine. And we have lots of back channels and fingers off the Piscataqua River, like the part of the river in the picture above.
This is a picture of part of the South End neighborhood of Portsmouth that’s on the water. The South End is made up mostly of a lot of historic antique homes., with some of the homes dating back to the 1600’s. Most are the 1700’s and later. The beige house on the water in this picture is the historic Wentworth Gardner House.

Beautiful. Waterfront real estate is picking up in Seattle, are things on their way up in NH?
Our waterfront homes here in Portsmouth and surrounding areas typically sell well, although even those homes slowed down a bit in the real slow-down. Lately, they’ve been selling fairly quickly, especially if the sellers have priced their homes realistically.
Glad to hear things are picking up in different locations around the country!
Ann…you live in a postcard. So beautiful!
Beautiful, it truly is! You’ll see first-hand when you come for a visit!
