Downtown Portsmouth NH has mostly brick buildings throughout the downtown area. This beautiful brick building has some beautiful original period features. It houses the Portsmouth Athenaeum, which is the home of a rich abundance of local history – documents, artifacts, artwork and more. This wonderful building sits in the very heart of the downtown Market Square area.
