Clock Changing Time | “Fall Back”

The brilliant foliage around our Portsmouth NH homes has given us such a gorgeous fall that I didn’t want you (or me!) to forget about setting the clocks back an hour this weekend…..

If you’re like me, and a little bit sleep deprived, you’ll get a treat on Sunday morning with an extra hour of sleep. And of course, the flip side of that is that it’ll be dark way too early each day. ;-(

Portsmouth NH Homes More Fall Colors Popping Up

I love fall here in New Hampshire, especially here around Portsmouth NH homes. The sky is a beautiful brilliant blue, the air is nice and crisp, and the colors of our trees – well, let’s just say that no camera can adequately capture the true colors that we get to see in person.

Those of us who call Portsmouth NH home get to enjoy the green foliage a little longer than most other parts of NH because of our proximity to the ocean right here. And that just means we can enjoy the fall foliage extra long by seeing it in other areas, and then when the leaves change here, we get to enjoy a whole show of fall colors!

Portsmouth NH REALTOR Visits Western North Carolina

I just came back from spending a week in the Asheville North Carolina area where spectacular scenery awaits you around almost every corner. Just as here in New Hampshire, western NC is a gorgeous area and the people are so friendly.

My sister, Karen, and I were traveling through the mountains in Pisgah National Forest when we came up this view of Looking Glass Waterfall – beautiful for sure!

The USS Albacore Memorial Park near downtown Portsmouth pays homage to those who’ve played important roles in not only our area history but the nation’s history. This park has a beautiful Memorial Garden dedicated to those who’ve given their lives while serving this area and our country. While you’re here in this park, you’re able to take a tour of the USS Albacore, dry-docked here in Portsmouth.

Dusk Along the New Hampshire Coastline

I love this picture – I really love the changing sky we often have here along the coast of New Hampshire. This was taken looking southward down the long 17 mile NH coastline.

Even though our coast is the smallest in America, it is just beautiful – a great combination of sandy beaches and picturesque rocky shores. When I sit and watch the waves and the sky like this one, it just seems like poetry in motion to me…… I love living here in Portsmouth NH – lucky to be able to call Portsmouth home!

Newcastle NH – Wentworth By The Sea

Wentworth-by-the-Sea in Newcastle NH is one of the old gracious destination hotels of times gone by. This beauty has had fabulous renovations done to it, and it alive and thriving today due to a group of people who came together, The Friends of the Wentworth Hotel. They started the move to not destroy this old beauty, and it is now owned and operated by a hotel group.

Talk about location – this location is right on the water, overlooking a harbor leading directly into the Atlantic Ocean in one direction and overlooking the Back Channel that leads to the Piscataqua River and Portsmouth NH.

Driving along Route 1 in Portsmouth NH, I came upon these words painted on the side of a former movie theater, and was compelled to snap a picture of them. I’ve read them over several times, with a slightly different interpretation each time.
