Rye NH | Things You See On the Side of the Road

I love just driving or riding along and coming upon things you don’t normally see, or expect to see. Jim and I were driving along the ocean the other day, and passed by the area in the picture above. As we passed by, we both looked at each other and asked if we’d really seen what we thought we had. So we turned around and went back…. sure enough, nicely parked amongst the marsh area was this small helicopter. According to neighbors, this helicopter flies in fairly often as does another one – getting their local New Hampshire seafood fix apparently!

Keep your eyes open – you just never know what you’ll see along the side of the road!

What a beautiful place coastal NH is, and how lucky I am to be able to call Portsmouth NH home!

Rye NH Homes | Lobster Buoys

I love the colors in these buoys I spotted along the side of the road hanging on a shack in Rye NH a little while back. How can you not smile when you see things as colorful as these are???

Living here in the Seacoast areas of New Hampshire, you get the opportunity to see fun things like this all the time!

What a beautiful place the Seacoast NH area is, and how lucky I am to be able to call this area home!

Rye New Hampshire living provides those lucky enough to live here along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean lots of scenery that evokes ocean living like the picture above does. The wooden traps in the picture are lobster traps, and the colorful things on top of the left stack are lobster buoys, used to mark each lobsterman’s string of traps.

Things You Find on the Side of the Road | North Hampton NH

This is Red Sox country up here in New Hampshire, especially along the NH Seacoast areas. We’re less than an hour from Boston, making it easy to get to their games if you’re inclined to being in the thick of the action. Being this close also means we usually get all the Red Sox games on TV and on radio.

OK, we do have a few NY Yankees fans up here, too….. but Red Sox fans try to ignore that fact if they can….

I drove past these stone people the other day, and saw them out of the corner of my eye. And, of course, I had to turn around and go back to see what it really was that I’d caught a glimpse of, which meant I had to pull out my trusty little camera so I could share it with you as well!

I saw this lady sitting by the side of the road in Portsmouth NH the other day, and I just had to turn around and go take a picture of her! She’s certainly dressed for the weather, except for her knee socks and gloves……

Hawking her produce on the side of the road…. nope, I didn’t stop in and visit her Farm Stand, but I might one of these days!

I was taking a cut-through route today on my way from showings on one of my listings to a showing on another of my listings when out of the corner of my eye, I spotted these creatures by the side of the road.

It was so hot today, I am surprised they weren’t in the water instead of beside it. I would have been in it if I could have been!

Things You Find on the Side of the Road | Stratham NH

This picture taken in Stratham NH is another one of those ‘things you find on the side of the road’. I’ve driven by this location countless times and yet never managed to see this beautiful fountain until recently. Set off the side of a busy road, just beyond a few groupings of trees is this beautiful water fountain in a smaller pond. The day I took this picture, the sun was hitting the water, making it glisten quite brilliantly.

When I encounter things like this, it reminds me once again to take the time to look around me and see what’s waiting to be seen and appreciated!

Honduran Rooster Run?

I saw this on the side of the road the other day, and had to turn around and go take a picture. A rooster race, Honduran Rooster Race?? I’m guessing perhaps this is like those frog races the kids have, only with roosters.
