We have the river, Piscataqua River, that runs downtown and separates NH and Maine, and the ocean is right here along with plenty of other rivers, streams and of course the Great Bay. All of these are navigable water bodies, so waterfront homes come in all shapes, sizes, and price ranges, many with their own docks to take advantage of waterfront living here in coastal NH.

Rye NH | Things You See On the Side of the Road

I love just driving or riding along and coming upon things you don’t normally see, or expect to see. Jim and I were driving along the ocean the other day, and passed by the area in the picture above. As we passed by, we both looked at each other and asked if we’d really seen what we thought we had. So we turned around and went back…. sure enough, nicely parked amongst the marsh area was this small helicopter. According to neighbors, this helicopter flies in fairly often as does another one – getting their local New Hampshire seafood fix apparently!

Keep your eyes open – you just never know what you’ll see along the side of the road!

What a beautiful place coastal NH is, and how lucky I am to be able to call Portsmouth NH home!

Portsmouth NH | Oceanfront Views

Portsmouth NH is right along the coast of New Hampshire, on the border of NH and Maine. The coast of of NH is only a mere 17 miles long, and at low tide, we can enjoy views like this. I love driving along the ocean at low tide because we can see views like this. You can actually walk all the way out to those rock formations during most low tides. If you do that, though, you need to pay close attention to the tide because when it turns and starts coming back in, you don’t want to get caught out there and having to swim back…. brrrrrrrrrrr

I love the colors in these buoys I spotted along the side of the road hanging on a shack in Rye NH a little while back. How can you not smile when you see things as colorful as these are???

Living here in the Seacoast areas of New Hampshire, you get the opportunity to see fun things like this all the time!

What a beautiful place the Seacoast NH area is, and how lucky I am to be able to call this area home!

Fall around Portsmouth New Hampshire homes brings us colors just like this picture. Not all that long ago, this was the beautiful color I could see right outside one of my bedroom windows. The way the sun was hitting these leaves made them looking like they were brilliantly lit up. We have a number of trees around our home here in Portsmouth, so we get to enjoy all the rich colors from a variety of maples, oaks, and birches – just beautiful!

Newington NH | Wild Turkeys on the Loose

Living in the Seacoast areas of New Hampshire bring all kinds of beautiful and amazing scenery! We were out for a drive this afternoon in Newington NH, a small town just outside Portmouth, we we came upon this flock of wild turkeys. They were just ambling along their merry way, likely in search of food.

Newmarket NH Homes | Seacoast Halloween Treats

Fall in the NH Seacoast, and especially the upcoming Halloween holiday, brings out all kinds of color both in fall foliage and in Halloween decorations. These decorations are in front of a local restaurant in Newmarket, and they really caught my eye with all their colors.

For the last few years, Portsmouth NH shows off for Halloween with its own displays of “Scarecrows of Portsmouth”. If you’re in town, be sure to drive around the downtown area and see how many you can spot!

Calling Portsmouth NH home is a real joy! This area is just beautiful and so full of history. Buildings downtown are mostly brick, like this beauty right in the heart of Market Square area of downtown Portsmouth.

This building is the Portsmouth Athaneaum and has beautiful period detail, both inside and outside. The Athaneaum is home to a library and museum. Our downtown area is so inviting, you just want to sit a spell on one of the many benches you’ll find all over the downtown area.
