Portsmouth NH Homes | Lilacs Scent the Air

My Portsmouth NH home is surrounded by the sweet fragrance of lilacs and it is heavenly to smell the air here! I’m lucky to have several varieties of lilacs growing in my yard, along with some other flowering bushes that have wonderful fragrances. For about a month, the air around my house is beautifully scented – I love it!

Did you know that lilacs are the state flower for New Hampshire? We have the Lilac Festival here in Portsmouth NH every year, and it’s held about a mile from my house at one of the beautiful historic homes in Portsmouth.

Portsmouth NH Homes Tree Canopy

Just a few short days ago, this was what I saw from my home in Portsmouth NH – these are a couple of the many trees in my yard. I loved the brilliant yellow of the leaves, and when the sun was shining on them, it created amazing light reflections throughout my house. It was just like flaming yellow and gold!

I caught this picture of the top of some beautiful historic homes of Portsmouth NH on a gorgeous fall day, with the sun shining and a great clear blue sky! The view here shows the rooftops of, the fall colors in the trees and the top of one of our bridges that connect Portsmouth NH and Kittery Maine.

The homes in this picture are of some wonderful Portsmouth NH antique homes in our outdoor museum, Strawbery Banke, and I’m looking north toward Maine. It was a gorgeous day for sure!

I drive by this gorgeous tree every day, at least 3-4 times a day, and the way the sun hits it never fails to catch my eye. Now with the brilliant red of the maple leaves, when the sun hits it, you just can’t help but be dazzled by that beautiful color.

The owners who live in the Portsmouth NH condos that this tree is in front of really have some beautiful scenery to enjoy! And a quick trip through area neighborhoods shows a lot of gorgeous fall foliage scenery all around homes in Portsmouth New Hampshire – take the time to enjoy it!
